    A swathe of church buildings in the Hawick area are facing closure.

    Under a draft mission plan to go before a meeting of the Presbytery of Jedburgh on Wednesday, doors would shut for good at the town churches of St Mary’s & Old Parish and Trinity, with those at Bedrule, Cavers, Minto, Roberton, Southdean and Teviothead meeting a similar fate.
