    Hawick schools have received a bad report so far as buildings are concerned.

    At odds with the national trend, some 18,500 Borders primary and high school pupils are being educated in “poor” rated buildings, according to a report published earlier this week – findings described as “depressing” by the town’s provost, Watson McAteer.
