    A 750-tonne crane lowers the new Victoria Bridge into place on Monday afternoon. The impressive Hawick green structure maintains the 170-year link between the Wee Haugh and Commercial Road.

    A new Victoria footbridge – appropriately painted in Hawick green – across the River Teviot was installed earlier this week as part of the £90million flood protection scheme.
