    Syndicate enjoy very fine finish

    The Ferry Master, a horse owned by a 12-strong syndicate which includes nine people from Hawick, put in a great run and just fell back towards the end to finish fourth in the Scottish Grand National on Sunday at Ayr with jockey Sean Quinlan in the saddle. Members of the owning syndicate, from the left, Duncan Swanston, Belinda Nunn, Nick Bannerman, Neil Goddin, Ian Walker, Colin Brown and Bob Hayne are pictured at the course.

    A quartet of Teries had a great day out at the Scottish Grand National at Ayr Racecourse last Sunday as they saw their horse The Ferry Master finish in fourth place.
