    Alan Scott surges through the tape to win the half-mile at Hawick Games

    Former ped turned coach Alan Scott can look back on his time on the Border Games circuit with immense pride, after making his mark as a competitor before going on to guide the next generation of athletes to success from track-side.

    The Hawick Paper caught up with the 76-year-old recently, and although retired from the open athletics scene since 2012, he still retains a keen interest in the sport.
