Police told The Hawick Paper yesterday (Thursday) that they are not looking for anyone else in relation to a stabbing in Burnfoot on Wednesday.
Officers were called to the Fairhurst Drive area at around 7.40am following reports a man had been found with serious injuries. The 30-year-old was rushed to Borders General Hospital by ambulance.
A force spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are ongoing. However, we would like to reassure the public that at this time we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.” When asked, police would not say if the injured male was a foreign national, as had been rumoured.
An NHS Borders spokeswoman said that “due to confidentiallity” she was unable to give an update on the patient.
