    Scottish Borders Council chief executive David Robertson has issued a robust response to concerns about safety in local schools, pledging that incidents “will always be taken seriously and fully investigated”.

    In a detailed letter to The Hawick  Paper, Mr Robertson stressed that “the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, staff and volunteers is of primary importance” following recent coverage of alleged violence and volunteer dismissals.
