    A surge in systematic shoplifting has prompted a co-ordinated response from local businesses and authorities in Hawick.

    Last week, a summit convened by Community Councillor Mick Robertson brought together affected retailers to tackle the escalating problem. Supported by police and local councillors, it aimed to strengthen collaboration and curb repeated offences.
