    The shutters will come down for the final time at Savers’ High Street shop in the New Year. PICTURE: ILF IMAGING

    Store giant Savers last night (Thursday) confirmed that its High Street outlet is to close.

    This latest body blow to the local retail economy followed growing rumours that the discount chain was shutting up shop so far as the grey auld toon was concerned.
