    Tributes have been pouring in following the loss of one of Hawick’s true characters, Ronnie Tait, who died on Christmas Day. He was 85.

    He was a devoted family man, an avid Common-Riding enthusiast and a founding member of the 1514 Club.

    He was also a dyed-in-the-wool Hawick Linden man, a much-loved regular at Jock Reid’s Bar and a friend to so many.
