    Elsie and Derrick reflect on 60 years of married life which began at St Mary’s church

    For many teenage Teries during the 1950s, the weekly dance to the Dixie Seven in the Crown Hotel was where they would first meet and some eventually marry.

    One of those couples was Elsie Scott and husband-to-be Derrick Grant who was home on leave from National Service – and six decades later they celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on Wednesday.
