    Teries rose to the challenge in face of tragedy – provost

    A £2million boost to the High Street is one of the many positives for Hawick in the wake of the pandemic, according to provost Watson McAteer.

    Reflecting on a challenging year for the town, he told last Wednesday night’s provost council meeting that the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) would bring “a freshness and appeal for businesses and shoppers alike”.
