Now you can relive this year’s festivities all over again with the release of a Hawick Common-Riding highlights DVD.
The DVD has been produced by The Hawick Paper’s very own Ronald Yule and features one hour 50 minutes of footage from Picking Night, including the ride-outs and throughout the big week.
Ronald, 19, compiled more than 3,000 minutes of material and it was a real labour of love bringing it all together. The former Trinity Primary School pupil said: “The filming I put online for The Hawick Paper has been viewed more than 130,000 times. The filming was a crucial part of the production and I must thank Lesley Fraser and Braden George for ensuring I was in the right place at the right time. Everyone from members of the public to the Big Eight and the Common-Riding Committee were also so supportive. I have had a lot of positive feedback so far.”
Ronald asked the public to decide what aspects should be included in the DVD and spent the best part of two months bringing the DVD together which is split into eight parts with the first 20 signed by Cornet Gareth Renwick.
The DVDs are priced at £12.50 and are on sale at Kat’s Corner Shop, ILF Imaging and online at shop.ronaldyule.co.uk.
